About the Pilates Springboard

Core X uses the state of the art Springboard manufactured by Balanced Body Pilates. This unit is a wall attachment apparatus that utilizes springs for resistance training. There are varying levels of resistance so springs can be used appropriately for both arms and legs. Exercises using the Springboard can be done lying down, seated, kneeling or standing. The stability of being on the floor makes for a safer workout while the rebound of the springs offer challenges for control and stability. You can expect to feel your muscles working hard to create balance, length and strength. When you use the springs your muscles are under constant tension with no breaks, so stamina will increase and your muscles will surely shake for joy!

About the TRX Straps

TRX stands for Total Body Resistance Exercise and was created in 1997 by Navy SEAL Randy Hetrick utilizing The TRX Suspension Trainer. This performance tool uses body weight and gravity to give an effective workout that is centered around the development of flexibility, strength and core stability. In the Core X classes we incorporate TRX to compliment the benefits of Pilates, you can expect to improve balance, coordination and control when performing these exercises. The versatility of the TRX system makes it easy to focus on our cardio goals in the Core X Beat class. It is a simple and efficient tool that can assist anyone of any fitness level in getting a good workout while feeling confident and secure.

Who’s Behind Core X?

Shannon Rooney, Molly Markham Lipp and Grace Parra combined the knowledge gained over years of experience teaching in the Pilates industry, working with all types of bodies and the passion around helping others be the healthiest version of themselves possible to create Core X Pilates Studio. We opened our doors in March 2020 to the Greensboro community and have been dedicated to our mission "Be Inspired. Thrive. Keep Growing."

Our sister studio, Body Balance Pilates Studio, is located across the parking lot from Core X and offers private & semi-private Pilates sessions, small group equipment classes, and functional fitness training. Learn more here!
